On Saturday our "Indian Summer" arrived - the weather was warm and the sky clear - so we headed over to the Idaho-Montana border to do the trail of the Hiawatha. It is an old railway through the mountains that is now a biking trail. It is really beautiful.
We started with the 2 mile tunnel. It is pitch black, very cold and dripping with muddy water - but so much fun to ride through with a little bouncy flash light and yelling at the top of you lungs!
This was our view for our packed lunch. Phil's aunt Cheryl came with us.

There are also a lot of high trellis bridges that we cross over. Overall such a great experience that we were glad we were able to have.

Fire = smores

As the weather begins to get a little cooler we have had a couple of fires in our beautiful turn of the century open fireplace. Here are a few snaps - we love playing cards by it! We are going to miss having this...
Hope that we might be roasting some smores on it soon!

More from the Canadian Rockies

We went for a hike at a place called Johnston's Caynon. It is a deep canyon in the Rockies with seven waterfalls along the way. A nice easy walk after our epic 15 km hike the day before at Lake Louise.
Sunday was a cloudy day to being with. But as the clouds lifted from the mountains we were amazed again by the grandness of it all!

Another waterfall in the Canyon. I like the moss.
This "castle" is the Fairmont in Banff. It even impresses people from the UK - and they have real castles!

This lovely shot was taken at Lake Moraine - a once hidden gem of the region. It has these amazing mountains around its shore.

Hi all,

We are back! We had a wonderful time up in canada. Attached are some pics for you of Lake Louise. We spent two full days up in the canadian rockies and 2 days driving to get there. It was well worth it. Every other mountain now looks like a pebble, they are truly amazing.
